It is impossible to say what daycare will run. A friend of mine pays 2k/months for a todler in MA. You may find a local church offering day care for 250/week. As non-citizen you cannot sponsor an au-pair.

Thanks for the quick reply, so the three months is about right, does that time only start when we're in the US? My work will put in his application at the same time as mine.
