If you are moving to Cyprus to live here permanently and to retire then you can import a car excise-free too, even from a non EU country! Its basically the same procedure as we followed, by the look of it. You need to look at the Cyprus Ministry of Finance website under the Customs and Excise Section.

You will have to pay the fees to get an MOT, the circulation tax and registration. All of these are dependant on the engine cc. I think the registration fee is about 1.07Eu per cc !
