I think around 11 million tourists come to Egypt every year so in theory there is a floating population if they evacuated 15,000 Italians perhaps they were tourists...?

Problem is I don't think anyone knows the correct figures of anything as I have seen variance in figures for that, some sources say hotels occupancy is 50% down from last year others say 70%, 25% etc

Fact is I don't see many people out and about in the day or night unless they are not leaving the hotel but then again I hear no music and many hotels look dark.

All I can say is my bank manager tells me many residents are leaving or have left and the estate agent says it's quiet and I know property is not moving

How the shops have remained open are a mystery..
