The British when they were conquering the globe forced the natives to adopt their ways and language. It's only recently the names like Kolkata and Mumbai have changed back to their original.
Their history in Egypt was not so nice either.
When countries plunder and invade and make others part of their empire then they can expect those who they plundered to respond and retake a liittle back that was stolen.
You just have to look at India 100 years ago.
Plundering others countries for their wealth or stategic position or labour has it's results.
