Hi Helena.
No-one is being 'victimised'. They are ensuring that we can all do what we say we can do, because they will only accept people with the skill sets that want that at the level they want. People with family here will be given a priority but most of us don't get in that way, and at some stage someone in that family still had to prove that they were skilled. It guarantees the quality of the skilled professionals here.
People without skills (as an employee, trade or business), family, or experience stand very little chance of getting in.
Doing the assessment first means that if someone fails they don't have to pay out the money for the full visa since for most of us that is the biggest cost.
If you're frustrated now just want until you're waiting for the medical results, visa stages or to sell your home!!! It gets worse before it gets better
We've all been through it in one form or another and it is worth it once you are here!
