Default Flat Rental in Lyon

Does anyone have an good advice on the best way to obtain a flat rental in lyon? I am from the US and looking for a studio or 1 or 2 bedroom depending on price. I travel a bit so just need a very economical place that is nice, clean and convenient to public transportation. Also, is there any advice on how to communicate with someone in Lyon so that i would have a flat to go to when i arrive in Lyon? Any help and/or contacts would certainly be appreciated.

It depends on where you and your husband want to live. District 6 (6eme) is generally pricey, so is the Bellecour (touristy) area. District 7, 8, 9 and Villeurbanne are, I think, less expensive.

There are many real estate agencies here. Most charge ridiculous fees in my opinion, but if you don't speak the language, like my husband and I, it may be wise to enlist their help. We're working with Lamy, a huge agency, to get our apartment.

Perhaps people who've lived in Lyon longer can be more insightful !? I have only been here for ten days.

Best of luck!
