Hi Trish

Im sure you will get plenty of info regarding all sorts of property on the Costa Del Sol, and theres bound to be one that suits you and your family at the right price.

However, if you do not get fixed up or want to try a little further inland, then I have an apartment for long term rent available now in the small rural town of Olvera in Cadiz province. Its about 1.5 hours from the coast; 45 minutes drive from Ronda heading north east.

It has two double bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin), lounge, kitchen/dining room, bathroom and small terrace. It takes up the first floor of my house and I live on the ground floor. The house has a front courtyard which guests also have access to and the apartment has it own separate entrance with only one flight of stairs to negotiate.

The town sits sprawled across a mountain range surrounded by breathtaking scenery with yet more mountains, acres of olive trees, and just waiting to be explored. You get all the hustle and bustle you would expect of a small town, people toing and froing to work, and then you get the evenings where you can sit and drink a cool drink watch the world go by and chat to the wonderfully friendly local people. Even with basic Spanish you will be surprised at just how friendly they can be and they love you to try and talk to them, and help you too. Its a different kind of world to that you will experience on the coast - its now only starting to get discovered by the tourists and has its own uniqueness of what spanish life is all about. Even if you settle on the coast, this is a place you should visit for a day or two. Pretty much eveything you would need is available in the town - theres a large Mercadona supermarket, plenty of small shops selling all kinds of things, and the town is ideally located to travel to Seville and Jerez both being within a 1:15 hrs drive; Malaga about 1.5 hrs drive; Granada about 1:75 drive
and there are more towns close by. The roads are pretty good too.
English SUR, The Olive Press, Euro weekly, Town Crier are just a few of the newspaper that are full of properties to rent and situations vacant. But do not fool youself that it will be easy - jobs are difficult to come by especially with basic spanish, but there are plenty of expats along the coast, so maybe there a job for you amongst them, or perhaps you should consider starting your own business.

If you want to know more about my apartment and the town of Olvera, just get in touch.

Otherwise, I wish you well and hope you find what you are looking for.
