If you are looking seriously at Brittany, which is a great place to live btw, there are often ads for rentals in the Central Brittany Journal (CBJ) which is a monthly and very useful publication listing everything to do with living in Brittany for the expat brit community. Brittany is relatively cheap still, has better weather than you might think, and the Bretons are very very welcoming and friendly, plus it has a sizeable but not overwhelming british population. I have a house there and try to spend as much time there as I can.
