Welcome to the forum.

I'm not sure about the visa - I applied for skilled independent and for that I needed to have current experience. Depending on your skill depends on which trade / professional body would assess you and you may want to find out what that assessment entails since that could answer your experience question.

You don't have to own your home. You do need money to keep you going for at least 6 months if you aren't coming into a job here.

Credit histories aren't usually transferred so you start from scratch here. If you've got bad credit history that can be a good thing but if like us you had good credit history before starting from scratch again is a pain.

If you haven't read through the sticky posts at the top of the forum it's worth going through them to see what info is available here and the search function can be useful too.
