Do you think it would be a doable commute to the CBD on daily basis on train? I would be working in the CBD and wondering if I could live in Mornington and work in the city. How long is commute? any pros and cons of this strategy?
Thanks and best Regards!

Hi Syed,
The train ends at Frankston. You can then get another train from Frankston to Stony Point (which is right down the Peninsula) but that goes inland through Somerville etc so wouldn't be any good for commuting.
If you were to live in Mornington then during normal hours (taking into account all the infernal traffic lights you go through) it's about a 10-15 minute drive, probably would take a bit longer during rush hour. Parking at Frankston station can be a bit of a nightmare and we were told that if you don't get parked by the 7.15am train you won't find a parking space (that's in the station car park). There are multi-storey car parks but would probably charge like a wounded bull for a days parking. At the moment I'm taking my husband into the station every day so he's not had the delights of parking. Within the next month we'll be getting a second car so he will be driving to the station. He did say that he would probably go to the next station up to park as there seems to be spaces there.
Mornington was our first choice to live, we love it there but we moved to Frankston South because of the boys school. When they've finished High School we'll probably move down that way.
If you've got any more questions, just ask.
