Mr M

Do you have a copy of Dubai Explorer? That will give you a lot of info regarding how to get things done when you get here.

T S Elliot fan?

Are you retaining a property, selling or letting? Obv you'll need to cancel gas/electric/phone/ Notify re council tax. Cancel subscriptions. Notify of new address - banks, insurance companies etc. Sell car? Cancel car insurance?

If you are planning on staying in Dubai for an extended period you need to notify HMRC that you will become non-resident for tax purposes (HMRC form P85). You can register to receive gross interest on savings accounts ( HMRC R85). If you have life or critical illness policies check that they will remain valid if you are permanently resident in the ME.

Get documents attested before you leave - B & M certificates, degree certificates etc.

If you want to use Skype to keep in touch (assuming it will work) download to your laptop before leaving the UK.
