My husband is a self employed roofer, he learnt his trade through working for another company & learning from the boss, on an informal training, he has now owned his own successful roofing company for 5 years.

We are really hoping that this isnt going to ruin our dreams... We had no idea that pathway D had been taken away in September (if im honest I had no idea about 'pathways' at all, we just thought Australia needed skilled roofers & that is what my husband is) We have 2 children aged 15 & 5 years, we are aged 32 & 30 & thankfully in good health, no problems with record checks etc..

I suppose now we just sit & wait for August 1st... (But I suppose it could be worse)

Do you have any clues about what they may do? Do you think it will be hopefull for people like us? (We hope so )

Kindest Regards,Kelly.
Hello Kelly.

There are strategies available for certain trade skills applications (including Roof Tilers) making use of a workplace assessment leading to the issue of what is called an AQF Certificate III (AQF = Australian Qualifications Framework), which in turn can facilitate a positive migration skills assessment from TRA under their Skill Pathway E if you also have at least 4 years of demonstrable relevant work experience.

Feel able to telephone our office in Southampton if you would like to discuss further: Go Matilda - Your Gateway to Australia - Contact and Feedback

Best regards.
