Friend's wife had 13-week old baby when she received her posting notice in AUGUST (to one of the minor islands - no airport or direct ferries). She, her husband, their well-connected koumbara, and everyone else they could enlist tried mightily to defer (new baby, right?), or post close to home. Nothing worked, and it was take the job or move to the bottom of the very long, loooong list. They needed the money: Yiayia moved in, she went.

So hang in there. It's not fair, but maybe you'll be sent someplace nifty. Life's supposed to be an adventure, right?!! Cheers, Hecate
