i'm an american wanting to move to dubai. just something i want to up and do on my own. no job relocation, no american company relocating me.

so how do i break into that market? right now i'm trying to find an american company (ad agency) with an office out there with open positions, to try to get in that way. also looking at job sites out there, and trying to find the UAE equivalent of recruiters/headhunters.

if i go, can i stay indefinitely, or do i have to be tied to some sort of "assignment"? anyone have experience in going on your own instead of your job moving you there?
