Just a piece of 'possibly' useless information, but here goes !
I work for a major power provider in the UK and we are also electrical retailers, and for the past few years "all" appliances come with a fitted plug....to change it you have to literally cut the cable.............we have gone Health & Safety crazy in this country and if said plug causes fire, you cannot claim your insurance !
Remember the cookers with spiral rings ? you can't buy them here anymore, because the powers that be don't want you to change the ring yourself when it blows the same with fires with the glow bars !
It would be much safer to buy adapters like someone else suggested, and when your toaster finally gives up, just buy a spanish one.
