You will be happy to discover that there are several 'Brits' retired here at Lake Chapala. Some did it the hard way; via Canada or the USA, but there are enough here to support a club of sorts. In the summer, most expats here are Americans but in the winter all of Toronto seems to arrive enmasse and they outnumber us. Nevertheless, we also count among our friends folks from Austria, Germany, Costa Rica, Argentina and others in this polyglot group. It is always fun to note that a few folks from Florida and Hawaii have given up those locations to move to 'Lakeside'.
