You'll have to check the terms of your visa, but generally for those with a student visa your right to work is limited to any "internship" or practicum required by your school or to short-term jobs over vacation or school holiday periods. (The same restriction often applies to the local students in the case of state sponsored schools.)

You might want to check with the school or schools you are applying to. They would be up to date on the visa restrictions.
