A month is a pretty narrow window - what sort of visa are you trying to get? And, just as important, where are you coming from? (Country of residence and country of nationality?)

The big thing you're up against is the interview requirement at your consulate. Even for a tourist visa, the appointment schedule at the local US consulate can take 3 weeks on average.
