Did the agents give you
any options at all? I'm guessing that either your husband would have to get a job in Australia or you re-train to get a qualification (making sure the job is on the skills in demand list!), and work for a year in a job and then apply. I'm afraid the hairdresser scenario is right.
I wouldn't give up just yet though, like Karen we had 2 agents who told us we would'nt be able to get visas but we did.
You could PM/email the 2 agents who occasionally post on here (Alan Collett and Liana Allen). We used George Lombard
