We were looking out the slider window one night and suddenly could see about a third of a lighted Ferris wheel and the part of the rotating ride as it got to the top. Amazing how stuff just "pops" up in Paris, especially when our French isn't good enough to keep up with day-to-day events on TV. We don't necessarily know what's coming.

The France24 site in English told us about the tractors today, and they went right down Beaumarchais, which is the next big avenue over from where we are (Richard Lenoir). We are five minutes from the Bastille and very high up, so we get to see a lot of rallies, running marathons, inline skate marathons, etc., plus the day of manifestations. Thanks for the info. I couldn't find anything about it on Google because I didn't have a name to call it. I will definitely put the fireworks on the calendar.
