I think there are a lot of people who leave their countries just assuming that everywhere else must be better. Back home, I've had Americans tell me how awful it is and how they'd like to move to x country, where they are sure it would be better. When it's a country I've visited, I can almost always reassure them that the very thing they are complaining about is worse where they want to go. These folks are definitely whinging Americans.
