Hi there. I dont work for Queensland Health, but know plenty of people that do. So - I can tell you what I roughly know to be right. And have lived in Brisbane most of my life - so, good choice in my opinion as a place to move to. Nice weather, relaxed environment, heaps to do.
Salaries - Im sure, you have done your research, but, in the range of $45-60k depending on position etc
But if you have not looked, all the jobs are advertsied on the Queensland Health site.
Housing - this all depends. :-)
If you want to share, you would be looking at from my experience, $150 p/w for something reasonable up to $250 p/w for something really nice (probably sharing in a 2-3 bedroom place. This would be for places that are fairly close to the city. Check out these sites:
Flatmatefinder & Flatmates (sorry, cant yet post links!)
If you wish to rent yourself (and then maybe rent out a room or two). You would be looking at $250-300 p/w for a reasonable 2 bedroom appartment. $350-500 for something really nice.
Again, this depends on location - which, will depend on where you work. And on the matter of location, be sure to check out the proximity of public transport to where you will be working. The train system is good, buses, pretty hit and miss. I say that, as it will not always be easy (or free/cheap) to park at or near the hospital you work in. And Gas/fuel here is a rip off, so, cheaper to get public transport.
Brisbane Transinfo website is a good place to check this.
Hope some of that helps a little...
