My 4 y.o son and I are already installed in Toulouse for 6 months. he is v happy with his school and friends.
I am Australian, my husband from US, commutes to france from North africa to see us every fortnight.

I have my recipisee, passed the visit medicale, waited for carte de sejour for 3 months, they say its normal with long delays.

I want to work. I was adviced by the mairie that i need my carte de sejour (1 year stay), then i should apply for visa which will then take several months. Is this accurate?

Or could i go to job agencies, look for a job and the company will get me the visa?

My french is advanced, although writing a document could be a challenge.
