Visits/Permanent move. Advice sought pse.
Hello all,
We visited New Zealand for the first time earlier this year... and wow, what a place. The South Island is absolutely stunning! But then again I guess most of you know that already.
We are looking at a couple of options and would welcome opinions on them... firstly we are considering starting with an elongated visit, up to 6 months as I believe we can do that without visa problems and it would give us a better feel for the place. It would be renting a house, are they available for 6 month lets? and we would buy a car probably, and sell again on leaving. Feasible or not?
Secondly, and further down the line... we are aged 64 and 49 at the moment, so in terms of moving down permanently, do the ages have any negative affect, I believe as long as main applicant is under 59 it is ok, is that correct? Also, wouldn't really have to work but can't see any other way of getting in. Any info appreciated.
Regards,
Paul and Liz.
