As Karen (compp) said we didn't need to prove savings at all. We came in on skilled independent visa (175) and it took us two years to be approved. We didn't move for a while longer because we had things to sort out in the UK.
Was it worth the time, money, effort and stress? YES! For us it was. You and partner need to know why you are moving out here. I know people say a better lifestyle but what does that mean to you. Paint a picture for your partner and maybe that will make a difference to how he views moving over here.

Regards,
Karen
