Have you read through the visa links in the "Please read..." post? The government site explain the obligations and eligibility of sponsorship.
If you can get in under your own steam that's what I'd personally recommend. As long as you've done some research into areas and jobs you should be okay. With sponsorship you are tied to a job and an area whereas with skilled independent migration (as long as you have the points) you can go where you want and do what you want.
