Hi Lisa,

It really depends on your shipping company, what you are shipping out, where you are shipping it from and to etc. It depends on how new your stuff is whether you want to bring it with you. We hadn't bought anything new in ages so we gave most of it away (charity shops and freecycle) and bought things new here.

We shipped a 40 ft container from UK (just North of London) to Melbourne and then to SE South Australia and that was around 6,000 GBP. I think the marine insurance was on top of that. We had a big container because we brought our Mustang over.

It can also be cheaper if you share a container but that can also take longer.
