Sorry I have not posted for some time...... but...... I have fallen in love with a muslim!
I was not looking to be struck by Cupids bow, but struck I was and struck I remain, even though our cultural differences are wider then I could have imagined. I first met my Ishmeeah at a fundraising event I was attending on behalf of the "Fresh Water For Everyone" campaign in Bradford. Our eyes met across a crowded room in what can only be described as an explosion of interest, not the kind of explosion some people associate with certain militant muslims..... but the kind of explosion one feels when they stumble across a thing of beauty that does nothing more than take their breath away.
Her family are dead against our relationship as they believe our cultures and ideology are incompatible....hence.... unsuitable. Even though my family are more open and lenient to the idea (probably due to having a Scot in the family) I just can't get her father to come round to it.
I have tried everything I can think of, I have offered to take him down the pub, and last week even offered to take him to watch the Chelsea v Totenham game which he declined due to religious obligations.
I am planning a surprise weekend away to a rock festival for Ishmeeah and myself in a couple of weeks. Ismeehah has never been to a rock festival and in all honesty I would be surprised if she knew what heavy metal music was, but I think she will enjoy it and it will do her good to let her hair down.
I am desperate to take her there but feel her father and brothers will definitely refuse to let her go with me.

Has anybody got any ideas on how I should approach them and ask their permission?
