The first thing you need to find out is:-
1. Are your skills are on the SOL/MODL list?
2. Do you have enough points?
3. Your age (you can't be older than 44 at the time of submission of main application (which you won't be!!)
4. Your qualifications/work experience
You will find details of the skills list and a points test in the sticky at the top of the forum page "please read....".
Once you've established the above, the next thing is to work out which visa you intend to apply for. Personally I always recommend phoning a migration agent to ask their advice, their first consultation is usually free without obligation. If you choose to use an agent, you can either use them for the whole process (skills assessment and main application) or just one part. Make sure that the agent is part of MARA (Migration Agents Registration Authority) - a link for this will also be found in the sticky thread. Ring around at least 3 agents to compare what they will do for you and how much they will charge.
Any other questions, just ask, there is always someone here that will be able to help and give you advice.

hi, bit confused, did you mean 44 or 45 ? my hubbie was 44 and 6 months when we applied, we were a bit worried about the 45 yr cap, our agent told us as long as the MAIN application went in before his 45th it was fine, it could be 2/3 weeks before and would still be fine, which obviously it was as we got our visa.
