Who said bar ladies are scummy ? Some are even well educated , but when it comes down to supporting the extended family(usually in a village)it is often the easiest way to achieve that goal .So what is the GF's 'Real job', or am i impertenant to ask
Those fat old Germans in Pataya are actualy helping to support those ladies and thier families , please do not knock it , without them a lot of people would be on starvation diets , allow them to enjoy thier later years whatever way they can , sex is good for the heart , so maybe they can get a few extra years of livable life .
Your frugal life of simple needs could be your downfall (and heart-ache), no money no honey is the general rule , and those that try living on the mere fruits of love , generaly finish up choking the locals chickens with the discarded skins . Slow down , back up and use your brain before you also become a statistic , being young in thailand does not afford you any superiority , the Baht rules no matter what you are seeking .
