Medical information
Hi Higgi, I returned this week from a 2 week stay in Paphos at the Laura Beach Hotel and have been trying to find out information for my husband and I to move to Cyprus possibly next year, job depending! I am 36 & my husband is 39 at present.
I have struggled to find out about the medical aspects of living in Cyprus. After reading your ad and seeing your a nurse I thought I'd ask you, sorry!
I am an insulin dependant diabetic who has regular hospital check ups/blood tests and prescriptions. I also have regular eye check ups due to my diabetes and have eye drops for glaucoma. I also have prisms in my glasses due to a squint I've had since I was a child and pay for my glasses myself.
I also have a laparoscopic gastric band of which I have treatment also provided under the NHS in the UK. I understand that this is possibly covered privately in Cyprus. Are you able to advice of anyone I can contact for information please?
Are you able to advise how the state system works in Cyprus in relation to paying for treatment in a hospital, doctors, dentists, regular prescriptions?
I will be working in Cyprus and obviously wouldn't move out unless we have jobs to come out to. We would be looking to move to the Paphos area around King of the Tombs/Tala/Kissonerga/Peyia kind if areas.
Any information you could send me would be gratefully appreciated.
Should you need to post any information my address in the UK is:
Mrs Tiffany Staniford as of 30/08/09 (was Mansell)
36 Overthorpe Close, Knaphill, Woking, Surrey. GU21 2LA, England
Thank very, very much for your kind assistance and time.
Tiffany Staniford
