As soon as your child turns six you can apply to the Ministry of Education for exemption from enrolment in a registered school. They will send you the homeschool application information. Those who are granted an exemption are eligible for the Homesehooling Supervisor's Allowance.

You are under no legal obligation to follow the National Curriculum.
