I know nothing about the Isle of wight, but Chichester is good, not too expensive, but not too cheap!! IŽd be happy bringing my children up there. In fact, altho we have a UK house in Worthing, my husband has his business in southampton, so should the credit crunch ever end, we will sell the Worthing house and buy in Chicester, or one of the villages, Lavant is my sons favourite cos its near Goodw ood, home of the horse racing and classic car festivals
