Hi Foxxie - welcome to the forum!

Are you looking to move to the States permanently, or just for a year or so? I only ask because the H1B visas (most often associated with "sponsorship") are in limited supply and tend to get snapped up as soon as they come available.

One possibility might be to look for a job in England with a US company that might be willing to arrange a transfer to the US for a year or two. There are a couple types of visas available to employers looking to train staff in this manner and it's easier (and cheaper) for them to arrange a transfer than to go through the "petitioning" process to import a new hire to the US.
