My suggestion is stay where you are.

You've not suggested a single reason for coming to France, only for leaving the US. Ergo, you don't really, really, REALLY want to come here, and you'd find it alien, TBH.

Use some of those savings to come here for a 1 or 2-month holiday to see if the reality here is any better for you than what you have at home.
