Depends on what year! We had a lovely summer to some extent, nice and hot. But then there was quite a lot of rain (though not enough to fill the reservoirs). I love the heat, but not humidity and there isn't much humidity here. And when there is, it is quickly followed by a storm. This year was a slight exception in Feb with the bushfires. Black saturday was stupidly hot and the week before it was so hot we couldn't sleep. However, the unit we were in didn't have very good air conditioning and the house was like an oven. Our new place has good cooling so shouldn't be a problem now. Melbourne is probably the best place to adjust to Ozzie weather. Just don't arrive in our summer, then you can aclimatise.
