Have a look at some of the other posts on this site that discuss the costs of living within Cyprus, they may give you some more food for thought and help you to generate some more focused questions.
If you already have a computer then it's probably worth bringing it with you especially if it's a laptop as you will be able to use Internet cafes. Second-hand computers are available but if you need it has a tool for your profession then it may be best to buy something that has a guarantee attached to it.
Internet connections are available but the connection speeds can be a little flaky and are generally low. The line speed that you mentioned (500 MB) is not available in the UK let alone Cyprus. I suspect that you mean 0.5 MB and even this speed is not available everywhere.
The cost that you could pay vary from nothing (if you use a free access point) to something fairly astronomical if you decide you want to live in the sticks and have to use a satellite connection. I would budget for double the amount that you're currently paying and keep your fingers crossed.
