I've never been to Australia, either, but I know for job hunting in general it's usually much better to have a couple of years of experience under your belt before looking to emmigrate. It also helps in looking for an overseas job, if you can at least claim some familiarity with the place you are going.
Any chance you could work for a year or two, and during that time make an exploratory trip to Australia - to scope out places, and to make inquiries about your job chances there? The extra experience could make a huge difference - and if you let people you work with know about your interest in Australia, you may just find someone who can help you by referring you to someone they know or putting in a good word for you with a friend or colleague down under.
Cheers,
Bev
