Default Any advice or opinions please

Hi to everyone,

I am a British pensioner, but have spent most of my life living and working abroad – mostly in East/Central Africa and the Far East. I have lived in the Philippines since 2005 but will shortly be moving to Cyprus.

Because of my lifestyle I find it easy to adapt to different cultures, but I do have two questions that I hope somebody will help me with.

I have an index linked pension income presently equal to 1,550 Euros a month, from which I have to deduct E180 for other expenses. My question is: Can two people exist on E1,370 a month if they have simple needs and lead a very basic life?

Secondly I need a computer and an Internet connection because I do some writing and need to do research. Are second hand computers available cheaply, or should I bring my own? I need a desktop with 512 Mb RAM. min. and I need an Internet connection with not less than 500 Mb connection speed.

At present I have both a wireless broadband connection costing E13 a month and a slightly faster ordinary broadband, costing E15 a month, including the telephone. Are these systems available in all parts of Cyprus and what would each of them cost me?

I would be grateful for any advice.

Thanks a lot

Bob
