Some of that will depend on the visa that you want to get into the country.
If you go skilled independent then you don't need a job to get in, however if you wanted to get in on a sponsored visa then you would need a job first and therefore the sponsorship.
Did you work for a company or were you self-employed?
There are some job search links in the "Please read..." sticky post towards the top of the forum and that may give you some idea for demand.
