More to life then Tescos
I assume you are coming from the UK. Well there is Carrefours and I feel just as good as Tescos. But I get the impression you are a shopper and if that is the case look at some of the bigger towns and not just Paphos to live. I live 10 minutes from Larnaca in a peaceful suburb of Lievadia. 3 km to the beach. I dont like being to far to buy a loaf of bread and it is nice to park up on the sea front and visit the Cafes etc. They have two M&S and Next and Butchers with UK home made saugages etc , etc. But consider the weather....sking in the winter and then drive down and walk along the beach. UK is damp, dark, miserable, tax nightmare on everything that moves, racial problems.
You will feel lonely at times but shopping is the best cure and lets face it Cyprus is not New Zealand....cheap daily flights.
I am a 56 year old male on my own who works all over the world as an expat. Believe me Cyprus is one of the better places to retire to but have an escape route if you really feel lonely.
Good Luck
