Kuala Lumpur’s metropolitan area is situated within the Klang Vally, which also comprises its suburbs and other neighboring towns and cities in Selangor.  Its name is Malay for “muddy conclave”, since the city is found at the meeting of two rivers—the Klang and the Gombak rivers.
