Expats around the world are among the hundreds of thousands of people whose travel plans have been disrupted by the cloud of volcanic ash that is continuing to close airspace in much of Northern Europe.
Although airports in some parts of the UK, such as Scotland, are expected to open this morning (Tues April 20), a new cloud of ash is expected later in the day to move across the country as the activity of the Icelandic volcano intensifies and the situation remains uncertain.
