Emigrating? Leave Nothing To Chance With This List

As far as advice about emigrating you can get that any where on the internet but a list of things to do before and after emigrating, you will not beat this massive list which covers everything that you will ever need to know!

While the number of people emigrating to the likes of Australia from the UK continues to rise there are more nightmare stories about paperwork, finances and official clearance than we have space to cover. Have you ever really sat down and thought about what you need to do? Have you spoken to someone who has been there and done it? This thread is probably the most comprehensive list ever posted on the forum and covers literally everything.

There is information on flights, employers, banks, pets, CVs, references needed, change of address notifications, DVLA, post re-directs, shipping of goods, prescriptions, refunds and much more. The beauty of this post is the way it is formatted and the fact it is so easy to read and more importantly understand. No wild goose chases, no vague comments just good old fashioned facts and figures from people who have done it and learnt all of the lessons.

The post is aimed at those people looking to emigrate to Australia but it serves as a great basis for people looking to emigrate to any country in the world. The information sounds so straight forward, so easy to remember but when you put it all together it takes away much of the pressure of moving and that niggling doubt you may have forgotten something.

Summary

In theory the process of emigrating today is very straight forward, in practice it can be very stressful, time consuming and very easy to forget a vital element. This list of things to do is set out in a format that anyone can understand and it talks in very simple terms with enough detail to see you through.

Anybody who has even considered emigrating will know the pressures, the worries and the doubts which can creep in. Am I doing the right thing? Will it all work out for the best? Do I really know what I am doing?

There is more than enough to worry about when you get there with regards to employment, finances, etc so the more pressure you can take off yourself before you arrive, the better for all concerned. Usually when someone posts a list of things to do on any forum you will get many people trying to correct the author, add more detail and new items. The beauty of this thread is the fact that there are no corrections to any of the points raised and there is only one small element added to the list.

The thread has also prompted some very interesting chat about Australia itself and some of the possible cultural difference with the UK. If you are looking to move to anywhere in the world it is vital that you recognise any potential cultural differences as soon as possible because causing offence in a new land will only add to the pressure you may be feeling.
